Serving Outside the Church

The Church at Rome wants to make a difference in the surrounding community.

To do that, we help our church community identify their passions and gifts and provide opportunities for them to serve.

Some ways we serve throughout the year include:

Events

Winter/Spring Diaper and Wipes Drive

Our church community collects diapers and wipes for families in need.

Barefoot Sunday (Easter Sunday)

The TCAR community contributes new adult tennis shoes and socks for distribution among our homeless community on SERVE Day.

SERVE Day (Acts of Service)

SERVE Day is usually after Easter Sunday, and you can find it on our updated calendar. Our community listens to a short Sunday message and then breaks into teams to serve around Rome and at the church building. We also offer several service opportunities throughout the year in smaller but impactful ways.

School Supplies Collection

Just as students return to school in August, our community contributes school supplies to help students who may not otherwise be able to afford what they need for school.

Fall Festival

TCAR teens help adult volunteers transform the church parking lot into a fall festival with games, prizes and a hayride for the community.

Thanksgiving Bags

Families, small groups and students contribute food from a list of items so we can help those in need have a Thanksgiving meal with all the traditional fixings.

Christmas

Families, small groups, and students contribute to a fund that the church uses to purchase Christmas gifts for children in the community whose families struggle to provide them that year.
