Community:

It's All About Love

We don't just want to go to church; we want to BE the church – in our city and the world. Jesus showed us that faith is about loving God and loving others. That means getting involved, building real connections, and making selfless choices to help those around us. When we love God and love people, we can work together to make a real difference!

COMMUNITY

* SERVE Day

Every year, we plan a day of service to focus on our community and meet needs. While we serve others all throughout the year, our SERVE Day is a churchwide concentrated effort to bring God's joy and hope to those around us.

Here are some examples of how we've served on SERVE Day.

  • Serve elderly neighbors: We've assisted seniors who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes and yards.
  • Hand out shoes and supplies to our homeless friends: Join our outreach team as we distribute supplies and build connections with our homeless neighbors.
  • TCAR Spruce-up: Help with projects around the church building.
  • Stay at TCAR and pray for the Serve Day teams.
  • Distribute popsicles and pray with people we meet at the park.

* Other Opportunities

  • The Rome-Floyd County Community Kitchen: Our church takes teams of volunteers regularly to prepare lunches, visit with clients and maintain the food pantry, laundry facilities and serve in whatever way the ministry can use our help.

  • Living Proof Recovery Center: Volunteers from the Church at Rome support this long-term recovery center through Bible study, encouragement and prayer.

  • Serving in the park: Throughout the year, teams from the Church at Rome visit people in the park, providing a cold bottle of water on a hot day, popsicles to families with children, and an ear to listen and pray if anyone needs it.
